This Week in Track: April 24 – 28th

Hello Track & Field Families!

Thanks to all who supported the Papa’s Night last week & all the help at the home track meets. The coaching staff appreciates it very much!

Last week the team competed well against Grants Pass & again up in Portland.

Both Boys & Girls won the team championships at Tigard. Nice to finally have a little Sunshine!

Here is what is ahead for the week:

MondayNormal practice

Tuesday-Normal practice & meet preparations for Wednesday

Final team dinner-please brings the following:

9th-salads or fruit

10th-dessert or bread

11th-bread

12th-drinks

A Big thank you to Suzie Johnson who has coordinated the team dinners and all the parents that have helped serving at the team dinner! We appreciate it very much!

Hello Track & Field Families!

Here are the updates for the week ahead:  April 17-21

Tuesday:                     Home Meet with Grants Pass

  • Athletes excused after 4th period, but can stay for 5th if needed and does not conflict with meet
  • Field events:  3:30 & Running Events: 4:15 Schedule attached
  • We always can use volunteers-GP has a very large team, so the more hands we have the quicker it goes!

Papa’s Night-Team Fundraiser-Flyer attached-April 18th

  •  PLEASE enjoy pizza, buy gift certificates and support the Track team.  The flyer can be used all day on Tuesday 4/18-PLEASE share with family & friends-an easy fundraiser to earn some dollars for the track and field team!

Wednesday & Thursday-Normal practice time at 3:45

  •  Thursday we host our 2nd Middle School meet-Athletes are asked to volunteer!

FridayBMW Invitational at Tigard HS-Limited Participation-More info to come

  • Bus will leave at 12:30 & Meet begins at 4:00

 Other Notes:

  • No team dinner this week
  • Reminder: Participation fees must be paid $150
  • Fundraiser prizes awarded today for athletes that sent out fundraising letters.  Each athlete will also be signing a thank you note to their donor.  I will mail out thank yous this week.

This week in Track & Field: April 10-15th

Hi Track & Field Families,

Here is some information for the week ahead…April 10-15th

  1. Reminder to pay your Participation fees ($150) to the finance office ASAP-If you have not paid your fees for the track season they must be done this week in order to participate. Please see Julia Girod in Finance office for further questions.
  2. Please make sure your son or daughter is enrolled in (4) classes!!
  3. Team Pasta Feed Tuesday April 11th at 5:30 in Sheldon Cafeteria
    • Parents can volunteer in kitchen from 4:00-6:30
    • Athletes asked to bring the following (Please do your part for the dinner so that we have enough food!):
      • 9th-Salads or fruit
      • 10th-Desserts
      • 11th-Bread
      • 12th-Drinks
  4. Wednesday-Sheldon vs. Marist AT Sheldon (This is a change in schedule)
    • Athletes are excused from class after 4th period-BUT can stay in 5th period if needed
    • Field events begin at 3:30
    • Running events begin at 4:15

    • If you are interested in volunteering at the meet please email Erin Regali (eregali@comcast.net) this was not a meet we were supposed to host, so I am in need of volunteers to fill in the gaps.
  5. Thursday-Practice at 3:45 & Then we host our 1st of 4 Middle School Track meets. This is a team fundraiser-we are responsible for setting up, running field events & cleaning up. Athletes are asked to help in these areas. The meet concludes around 6:00 or 6:30.
  6. Oregon Relays Friday & Saturday-This is a meet with limited entries & final confirmation of accepted entries is Tuesday evening. We will communicate with athletes at practice today and tomorrow on weekend.
  7. Next week-Home meet on Tuesday April 18th with Grants Pass & as well as a Papa’s Night! Please plan to eat pizza, buy gift certificates, have lunch, share with friends-every dollar helps the program! Flyer (posted here)
