Sheldon Community Track Receives $90,000 commitment from 4J!

In the fall of 2014 we kicked off our vision for the Sheldon Community Track with an outdoor dinner at the Darland family home.  Since then we have been working to move the vision forward. First we established Friends of Sheldon Community Track as a registered non-profit organization so donations by individuals and corporations are tax deductible.  Additionally over the last 18 months we have had multiple meetings to discus our project and fundraising options with:

  • Eugene Parks and Req department
  • TrackTown USA
  • Oregon Tack club Board of Directors
  • Eugene 4J Schools
  • NCU Athletics/Track and Field
  • Travel Lane County
  • Sheldon Neighborhood Group

We have some exciting updates to share  about our plans to raise another $60,000 for new Poly Track Surface to be installed the summer of 2017! Also plans to work with the City of Eugene for a new turf field at the track.

Come join us for a great evening with Friends of Sheldon Community Track at our update dinner on Sept 15th.
