Track & Field Families,
It is hard to believe but we are approaching the final weeks of the season…We had a busy week of travel last week to Grants Pass and then Salem for a 9th & 10th grade meet, great competition and marks by the Sheldon Athletes.
Here is what is ahead:
No Pasta feed this week
Track meet at Home Wednesday April 29th with Willamette; Students are excused from 5th period class if needed. Always looking for volunteers, so if interested please email: [email protected]

The last middle school meet Thursday-it is a fun day at the track with Monroe and Cal Young competing and a great way to support our middle school athletes who will hopefully compete at Sheldon next year.
Friday-Jesuit Twilight Meet in Portland-limited entrants for this meet and coaching staff will communicate with athletes once we learn who is accepted into the meet-Sheldon will provide transportation, but if parents want to drive their son/daughter up later in the day just let me know. It is a very long day with first event starting at 2:30 and the final event at 9:45
Update: Friday Meet at Jesuit High School in Portland-(Limited participants)-I communicated with athletes at practice on Tuesday if they were competing at Jesuit. We will leave Friday at 10:30 am for Portland. The meet begins at 2:30 & ends at 9:45, a very long day. I need to know if kids are traveling with me to Portland as well as their travel plans on the way home. If interested in providing athlete snacks or drinks please let me know. We will set up a team area with tent, food, drinks, etc for the long day. They do have a concession stand at the meet.
Update: Lost & Found – I have a BIG tub in the Track Shed of Lost & Found items from throughout the season, so if you are missing something it might be there.
Update: Excused absences – We have had some issues with students not being excused from class properly with the school and parents being called with an unexcused absence. It is the Synergy program that the school district uses to excuse athletes. It is difficult as a coach to excuse each athlete independently as to their events they are competing within a meet; so I excuse the team as a whole and communicate to the kids if they need to stay in class they can do so, but best to communicate that to the teacher.
Next Week-Final meet at Marist on Wednesday May 6th
All Athletes will end with District meet; JV district May 8 at Springfield HS and Varsity District meet May 14 & 16 also at Springfield HS
Any questions please feel free to contact me….Thanks for the great support this season!!
